In our tests, the performance of this
board is pretty good if you were to run in the official DDR333 mode
although it is running at 133.34Mhz FSB while the other boards somehow
raised their fsb to as much as 135mhz just to obtain high scores.
The Intel D845GEBV2 doesn't seem to
have a lot of features on board. It does not have RAID, S-ATA etc. The
optional Gigabit Ethernet does come as a surprise as most of the current
Intel chipset mainboards still do not offer Gigabit Ethernet onboard
except for a few top tier Taiwanese manufacturers.
Intel mainboards do not provide any
overclocking of the FSB except that you can choose to increase the ram
timings. IN our tests, we ran it at CAS 2 , 2-2-5 using a 512M Corsair
XMS 3200 DDR. It is as stable as a rock.
Installation is very straightforward.
As the board is quite spacious, we didn't have much problems getting it
installed. The CD that comes with the mainboard provides all the
necessary information on how to install the drivers.
Documentation is provided within the
CD-ROM and there isn't much to read to "operate" this board as
everything seems so straightforward.
