We have reviewed the ULi M1695 reference board sometime ago. If you remember, ULi M1695 paired with its southbridge M1567 is the first Athlon 64 / FX / X2 supporting chipsets allowing you to tap the power of your old high end AGP 8x graphics card at native speeds. On top of that, it also supports a PCIe x 16 slots for graphics cards. With its T.G.I technology, you can add on another PCI graphics card and do a 6 monitor screen surround video output. The chipset was quite overclockable and performed as good as NF4 Ultra boards and SLI.

ASrock, an innovative manufacturer of mainboard chose this chipset and added on new features to it. Based on the same chipsets, ASrock added in a Jmicron SATA II controller to boost the HDD performance. Not only that it has a FUTURE_CPU_PORT. It is the first board ever made that is future proof - upgradeability to Socket M2 through an upgrade slot (not available yet).

ASrock 939Dual-SATA2 is a full fledge ATX board based on the ULi M1695/M1567. It supports the Socket 939 AMD Athlon 64x2, 64, FX, Sempron processors with a FSB of 1GHz of HTT. It supports cool n quiet, 4 GB of Dual channel DDR 400. It has 1 AGP 8x, 1 PCIe x16 slot,1 PCIex1 slot and Future CPU Upgrade Slot. This board offers 2 IDE channels for connecting 4 IDE HDDs and 2 SATA ports for SerialATA 1.5Gb/s, RAID 0,1,JBOD. There is another SATA II 3.0Gb/s SATA connector for a third SATA HDD. Audio wise, 7.1 ch audio is supported using ALC850 codec. It has 4 ready to be used USB 2.0 ports with 4 more thru expansion cables. There is no GbE but it is equipped with  Fast Ethernet LAN.

Finally, this board offers voltage selections to the VDIMM, VCore. It also has settings for ASync PCI-E, PCI option. This allows you to increase the HTT without affecting the PCI-E and PCI frequency.


The package comes with  cables, CDROM and manual.
