GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H AMD 890GX+SB850 mainboard review - SiSoft Sandra 2009 Benchmarks
We check out the 3 boards CPU default CLOCK to ensure that it does not differ too much from one another. The RAM timings are also adjusted down to CAS 5-7-7-18-1T for all boards. Here are the readings off CPU-Z using AMD Phenom II X3 710 processor (13x200=2.6GHz). ECS A890GXM-A 199.6 MHz SiSoft Sandra 2009 First, we check out the Processor Arithmetic scores of SiSoft Sandra 2009. From the chart, we can see that the ECS A890GXM-A seems to be at a disadvantage due to the slightly lower clock. Increasing the GPU Clock default from 700MHz to 900MHz doesn't seem to give the boards any advantage to the scoreline. During our test, we noticed that AMD might have disabled the ACC AOD feature on its SB850. I am unable to find the option in all 3 boards. The ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 is the only model that allows us to unlock the hidden core though a switch on the PCB. With the 4th core unleashed, we see a jump in the score in both Drystone and Whetstone.
In the processor multimedia department, the ECS A890GXM-A seem to do pretty well at default GPU clock of 700MHz. In fact, it performs faster than the two other boards. When the ASUS and Gigabyte board has its GPU raised to 900MHz and Sideport to 1520MHz/1580MHz, we would see a gain in the score against the ECS running at 900MHz and Sideport of 1333MHz.
