ASRock X58 Extreme Intel X58+ICH10R Core i7 Mainboard Review  - SiSoft Sandra 2009
Bluetooth 2 Jul 2009

Benchmarks

In this benchmark, we check out the memory bandwidth of the system running 3 Kingston DIMMs using SPD timings which default to DDR3-1600 CAS 9-9-9-27-1T.

Arithmetic Processor test

In this test, we pit the same board against the ECS X58B-A. We also run the ASRock X58 Extreme in DDR3-1875 mode.

From the results, we can see that this test which targets the processor performance doesn't differ a lot. In fact, the difference can be counted within margin of error. With DDR3 running at DDR3-1875 on the ASRock, the performance is slightly better than running it at default DDR3-1600.

Multimedia Processor test

In this test, we check the performance of the three scenarios. The ASRock in both timings edge out the ECS in the INT x8 test but loses ni the Double and Float.

Memory performance test

In the memory bandwidth test, the ASRock X58 Extreme is on par with the ECS X58B-A. With the ram running at DDR3-1875, we see an immediate boost in bandwidth by 5GB/S for both Int and Float benchmarks.
