Introduction

Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 is Gigabyte's high end mainboard for the Intel Core 2 Duo/ Core 2 Extreme processors based on the Intel 965P chipset. Featuring some of the best of best feature set, it is one board that will amaze you. Gigabyte has always delivered many innovative products. Remember the Dual BIOS. This time round, Gigabyte is going to play QUAD. The GA-965P-DQ6 is one of the first of such kind that provides quad solutions. So what is quad solution?

Firstly, it is Quad Cooling which covers the pcb with cooling devices like Crazy Cool and Silent-Pipe. Heat sinks covering Mosfets and North/South bridge. Secondly, Quad BIOS is a feature unique to GIGABYTE that includes DualBIOS™ and Express BIOS Rescue Technology. This combination delivers a safety assurance mechanism that sports a total of 4 copies of BIOS distributed between the Flash ROM, hard-disk and driver CD. This feature helps to reduce the affects of virus attacks or firmware damage and provides multi-layer BIOS protection that assures greater PC platform stability. Thirdly, Quad e-SATA2, the board has four sets of external SATA ports based on the Serial ATA 3Gb/s storage. Fourthly, Quad Triple Phase incorporates 12 Power Phases to deliver steadier power and immediate current support for the CPU during heavy work loads or over-clocking. The 5th Quad is Quad Core Ready
for Quad core processors well in advance. Lastly, Quad DDR2 Slots allows users can to experience system performance featuring faster speeds and higher data bandwidth for memory intensive applications.

On top of all these, the mainboard also has a 16x + 4x  PCIe interface, 8 ch audio, PCie GbE, 1394 and a super optimised BIOS for overclocking. In fact, we had crazy FSB record for a board running on air cool. We reached 466 x 6 on our X6800 ES processor.
