Review of Sony Ericsson Satio 12.1 megapixel Camera Phone
OCWorkbench 30 Nov 2009

Sony Ericsson Satio

Formerly known as 'Idou', this Sony Ericsson Satio finally reaches the mass market a couple of weeks ago. Being on of the first 12.1 mega pixel camera phone in the market, it does have the upper hand in this high end market. To date the nearest competitor is the Samsung Pixon12 which we have reviewed on OCWORKBENCH before.

As it is an entertainment phone, the Sony Ericsson features some of the best multimedia features on this Symbian powered device. The most noticeable is the large 3.5" 16:9 true widescreen display. You can now view your encoded videos in full wide screen format. This touch screen surface also serves as the launch pad for your other entertainment applications e.g PlayNow, TrackID.  You can also download the DRM free tracks and TrackID charts from around the world.

For the photo geeks, it is easy to snap beautiful pictures with the Satio. With the Xenon Flash, no matter how dark the environment is, the flash is able to give you a clear picture of the object. The camera also comes with these capabilities : 12x digital zoom, Auto focus, BestPic™, Face detection, Geo tagging of photos, Image stabilizer, Photo feeds, Photo fix.
