Benchmarks

3DMark05

The ECS N8800GT-512X clocks at the same speed as the reference card. In both 3Dmark05 and 3Dmark06 tests, we ran the card with Intel QX9770 on Gigabyte p35T-DQ6 mainboard. The first test is done based on it's original clk of 650/950 (core/mem) at 3.2GHz (CPU). In the 2nd test, we overclock the card using Ntune to 700/1000. That is done with the fan attached. Anything beyond 700/100 results in 3Dmark05 aborting halfway during benchmarking.

Without overclocking, the ECS N8800GT-MX scored 19033 and 19329 when overclocked to 700/100. When overclocked, the 8800GT is faster than a 8800GTS. That is to be expected since they're actually the same core. Take note this score is done using Force 169.25. The Gigabyte 8800GTS was benchmarked earlier using 169.06. As we have returned the 8800GTS card, we could only use the benchmarks done 2 mths ago for the comparison.

3DMark06

The same test is done using 3Dmark06 as the benchmark. ECS N8800GT-MX scored 13341 and 13977 (when overclocked). This result is pretty good considering the jump in performance from 13341->13977 an increase of 2.6%. This score is higher than a 8800GTS at default clk.
