DOOM 3

In DOOM3, we take a look at the performance of this card using Forceware 169.25. As there is a bug in Force 169.25 for 4xAF mode, we used 169.06 to run the 4xAF+8xAA test. We ran the card at 1600x1200 and used the graphics driver to set the AA/AF correspondingly. (demo1 ran 3 times).

Below are the results :

The 8800GTS definitely churns out more frame rates as compared to the default clocked 8800GT. As for AA/AF, it is shocking to see that the 8800GT even with 169.06 seems to outperform the 8800GTS. I seriously can't explain why is that so as the tests are all done for AA/AF are all based on 169.06 for both cards.
