Sandra XII Benchmarks of AMD Phenom GP-9600 on  Jetway PA77GTA-VT Review
Bluetooth 16 Nov 2007

Benchmarks

The 3 different boards are put to the test comparing the two AMD 700 series boards running a Phenom GP-9600 at 2.3GHz versus an underclocked QX6700 running on our GA-P35T-DQ6. For the Jetway board, the DDR2 is set to run at DDR2-800 as that is the only available option. As for the Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6, it is set to run at DDR2-1066, both runs the same Kingston DDR2-1066 at CAS 5, 5-5-18, 2T. The Gigabyte P35T-DQ6 running an underclocked QX6700 is with a pair of Samsung DDR3-1066 at 1066MHz CAS 7-7-7-20, 2T.

Sandra XII tests

From the chart, we tested the Arithmetic and multimedia performance of the CPU. As the speed on the two AMD boards are at 200.0MHz and 200.9MHz, we would expect some minor differences in scores.

We did a clock to clock comparison by underclocking the QX6700 to 230X10 (2.3GHz).  In Arithmetic tests, the iSSE3 instruction set seems to be on par whereas in Drystone ALU computation, AMD Phenom falls behind the Intel Quad core processor by around 23%.

In terms of multimedia, Intel quad core still leads the way especially in Int x8 iSSE3 tests by almost 188%. In Floating iSSE2, the difference is 20%.
