Introduction

Universal abit has been pretty quiet since the early of this year. This is probably due to restructuring and this resulted in very little exposure of their products on the online media. Today, we take a look at one of their latest products, the IP35 Pro.

The fanless heatpipe IP35 Pro is a high end board from Universal abit. It is based on the Intel P35/ICH9R pair and supports the Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme/Duo/Quad processors with 1333/1066/800MHz FSB  and Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme/Quad/Duo & Pentium® Dual Core Processors. It has 4 X 240-pin DIMM sockets support max. memory capacity 8GB of Dual channel DDR2 800/667 Un-buffered Non-ECC memory. The board also comes with Dual Gigabit LAN controller supports 10/100/1000M Ethernet and On board 7.1 CH HD Audio CODEC which supports auto jack sensing and optical S/PDIF In/Out + HDMI ready header (SPDIF header).

The board also comes with Dual full length PCIe slots which allows two graphisc cards to be used on board in CrossFire mode. There are also 6 SATA II ports which supports RAID 0/1/5/10, 2 eSATA by Jmicron MB363, 2 x IEEE 1394, 10 USB ports. -E X16 (x4 bandwidth), 1 x PCI-E X1,

Most importantly, this board has on board power on/off, reset button, that makes and debug led. this makes troubleshooeting easier. Something I like is the EZ for CCMOS. You can now clear the CMOS without opening the casing.
