Foxconn C51XE2AA-8EKRS2H Foxconn should be a familiar brand name by now. Made famous by its NF4 board that was first reviewed here at OCW, it has the longest running number of replies in our general mainboard forum track. Today, we take a look at the latest offering from Foxconn. the C51XEM2AA mainboard, the highest end model based on the new NF 590 SLI chipset for the AMD AM2 platform. This mainboard package comes with lots of cables, SLI bridge, manuals etc. The mainboard, basically laid out similar to most NF 590 SLI board supports 2 x PCIe x16, 1 x PCIe x4, 1 x PCIe x1, 2 x PCI slots. It only has 1 ATA 133 slot for IDE HDD/CD/DVDRW. 6 SATA II RAID ports are supported by the South bridge which you could set it up in RAID0,1,0+1,5 or JBOD configurations. Other than that, the board comes with 7.1 audio, Marvell's Dual GbE, 2 x 1394a+ 1 x 1394b connectors. There are also 4 USB ports at the back panel which more USB ports can be extended through the brackets provided. As it is based on 590 SLI, it supports the LinkBoost technolog which automatically increases the bandwidth of system buses when coupled with selected NV and 3rd party hardware. The dual GbE can also be configured for First packet prioritise network traffic for games or voip. You can also team up the two ports by teaming. Dual SLI x16 can be run on this board for best gaming performance.
