ECS KA3 MVP Extreme AM2 board (ATi Xpress 3200) Review Benchmarks 1/8
Bluetooth 14 June 2006

Benchmarks

In this test, we measured the CLK used by the boards. Both boards are set to run in SPD mode of the modules which is rated CAS 5, 5-5-15, 2T. The ECS KA3 MVP Extreme is based on the ATi RD580 chipset while the ASUS M2N32-SLI is based on NVidia's 590 SLI chipset.

From the chart, we can see that the ASUS is slightly faster by 1/2 a MHz. Will that give it a lead against the ECS KA3 MVP? For a fair comparison, the auto overclocking features on both boards are switched off.

With that in mind, we take a look at the memory benchmark scores using Sandra 2007. The ECS KA3 MVP is leading by around 100 points. Does that translate to better benchmark results? We shall see.
