Below are screen captures of live TV programs. I find the images clear but not sharp. This could be due to a lot of reasons like the source. It could be also due to the JPG compression. If it is captured as a BMP, it will be much better.

Conclusion

Compro VideoMate U900 is definitely a must for notebook users who are TV and video editing buffs. The small size and most importantly, it does not require an external power supply. With NICAM Stereo support, this device allows you to record TV Programs in Stereo and Dual Sound. I can now record in mpeg4 to conserve some disk space and watch my favourite programmes at a later date/time.

One thing that I would suggest is that Compro include a radio tuner into the device. It would definitely be perfect if that included that. I suppose that should be the standard teletext standard supported on this device but close caption/teletext didn't work. EPG (Electronic programme guide) brings you to an online website which is basically for american tv stations.

Overall, I like this TV tuner but I would like it to support DVB-T and a radio tuner. That would make it the perfect USB tv tuner.
