Installation

I have been playing with different TV tuners in the past. The Compro VideoMate U900 is the simplest of all among all the different cards/boxes tested before. It is so simple. Just plug the USB cable, antenna and it gets auto detected. Installed the PVR software and it is all done.

The PVR Interface is easy to access. Before you do anything, you should setup the channels by clicking on the setup icon (the screwdriver icon under the word LIVE). Once that is done, you may want to click on the leftmost icon, it does a Channel Surf and below are some channels that can be viewed on the PC. The second left most icon is for taking a screen shot of the current image. Further down, the icon is used for time shifting. Next to its right is for selecting the channel. The next icon is the setup icon, Close Caption, EPG, Schedule and Video Source.

To record a program, just click on the RED button to record.

In the Options settings, you can setup the channels, recording settings like the path, the quality of video recording and CODEC to use etc. VideoMate U900 provide the convenient Straight-to-Disc video recording to direct record the TV shows on CD-ROM and DVD-ROM discs. It can save your harddisk space and editing time.
