EPoX 5EPA+ i915P Socket 775 Mainboard (1)
5EPA+ EPoX 5EPA+ is EPoX's offering for the Pentium Socket 775 processor based on the Intel® i915P chipset. It is similar to the 5EGA+ we reviewed earlier except that this board does not come with integrated graphics. With this board you do need of the expensive DDR2 memory as it uses conventional DDR400. It comes with a x16 PCI-E slot to pair it up with PCI-E graphics card. The board comes with Four 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMM sockets and it support single-sided or double-sided 2.5v DDR-333/400 DIMMs with dual channel architecture in 256Mb/512Mb/1Gb technologies. It supports up to 4 GB system memory. The board comes with Four PCI connectors compliant
with PCI v2.3, Two PCI Express x1 connectors, compliant with PCI Express 1.0a,
One PCI Express x16 connectors compliant with PCI Express 1.0a. Most of the
boards do not come with more than 1 IDE slot. 5EPA+ did not forget those who
needs IDE RAID as it supports two additional ATA-133 IDE ports with RAID 0, 1,
0+1 support from onboard ITE 8212F RAID controller. It also has Four S-ATA ports
with up to 150MBps bandwidth from ICH6R with RAID 0,1 support, Hot-Plug and AHCI
mode. On top of that the board supports Eight USB connectors compliant with
USB2.0 from embedded USB controller (4 connectors at rear panel). As for LAN
there is the 1Gb Ethernet from onboard PCI Marvell 88E8001 controller with Auto
MDI/MDIX and Virtual Cable Net-Diagnostic support. 8 ch audio is support with
the onboard Realtek ALC850 AC'97 v2.3 compliant CODEC with Auto Jack Sensing for
fool-proof audio device installation. The PowerBIOS provides excellent over
clocking features and they include support of asynchronous FSB/DIMM timing mode
and 1MHz fine tuning etc. We will take a look at the details in Gallery pg 3,4. Specs
