Benchmarking

We checked out Q3 running Demo001 at 1024x768x32 Hi-Quality. In this category, the SIS 748; a single channel DDR solution lost to the nForce2 platform. This is to be expected. The difference between the two boards is very minimal. It is only 0.2 fps which is hardly noticeable. In fact, what would happen if the FSB was 200.5, it would have got similar or high results. In all tests, Tyan Radeon 9700Pro is used and is running in 8X mode with Catalyst 3.2 (7.84) drivers for all boards tested.

The score is amazing. In this category, the SOYO K8USA board again beats its own reference board and even the SIS 755 Ref board is not as fast as it is. Strange enough, we see that the BIOSTAR nF3 board is slightly faster. In fact the difference isn't that much but we see the ALi board is performing very well throughout.

In 3DMark2001SE Build 330, the results are quite different though using the same chipset. As we can see the BIOSTAR K8VHA Pro scores 17515 while the ABIT KV8-MAX 3 and Gigabyte K8VNXP scores around 17380 3Dmarks. The ASUS K8V Deluxe scores slightly lower at 17292. The SOYO K8USA scores a high of 17487 which is faster than most of the boards.

In 3DMark2003, the score of 4876 leads all K8 boards. The ASUS P4C800 and ABIT IS7-G are P4 boards that are put in here for reference sake. Again we see that SOYO K8USA is definitely a champion in this two categories.
