Benchmarking

We checked out Q3 running Demo001 at 1024x768x32 Hi-Quality. In this category, the SIS 748; a single channel DDR solution lost to the nForce2 platform. This is to be expected. The difference between the two boards is very minimal. It is only 0.2 fps which is hardly noticeable. In fact, what would happen if the FSB was 200.5, it would have got similar or high results. In all tests, Tyan Radeon 9700Pro is used and is running in 8X mode with Catalyst 3.2 (7.84) drivers for all boards tested.

I would never have expected that score as I increased from CAS 2, 6-3-3 to CAS 2, 5-2-2, the Q3 score increase from 367fps to 380.4fps. That is an amazing score comparing to all the platforms. In fact, if you notice, on the K8 A64 platforms, a difference of 0.1MHz makes a lot of difference in the number of frames obtained.

In 3DMark2001SE Build 330, SiS 755 Ref again excel in its performance scoring 17442 (0.03% ^). Looks like SiS got their AGP performance improved a lot from their K7 series of boards.

In 3DMark2003, the socre of 4862 3Dmarks is the highest among all the K8 A64 boards tested. We only hope to see retail boards will have that kind of performance levels since most SiS retail boards don't enable the ram timing options for you to tweak.
