Benchmarking

In Windows Movie Maker ver 2, we imported the sample file that comes with the program into it and encode it using a 1.5Mbps video WMV. Here are the timings recorded using a stop watch. From the timings, we can see that Dual Channel i865PE and i875 is definitely more superior by 12.5% against the unofficial 800mhz supporting 845PE chipset. The SiS 655FX is as fast as the Canterwood boards in this test scoring 40s. Timings recorded in seconds (the faster the better).

In terms of rendering, lightwave 3.0 is used. We used the benchmark file Radio-reflective things and rendered one frame. Here are the timings recorded in seconds (the faster the better). A score of 47.7 is obtained which is not too bad from the fastest 47.5s. As you can see from the chart, it is average among the Caterwood boards.
