Benchmarking

We check out the results for ZD Benchmarks using CC Winstone 2002 and Business Winstone 2001 in this section of the benchmark.

Please take note that there is no IAA available for this new chipset and the current IAA downloaded from Intel site can't be installed for Springdale boards. We have received news that a IAA is being planned for it for IDE. The current edition of IAA is meant for SATA RAID.

Before you read the graphs, we have to explain the colour codes.

White : nForce2 chipset, AXP3000+, CAS2, 5-2-2 (AMD platform)
Blue : Intel 865PE chipset, P4 3.0C, CAS2, 5-2-2 (Intel platform)
Red : Intel 875P chipset, P4 3.0C, CAS2, 5-2-2 (Intel platform)
Green: Intel 845PE chipset, P4 3.0C, CAS2, 5-2-2 (Intel platform)
Yellow : SiS 648FX, P4 3.0C, CAS2, 5-2-2 (Intel platform)

Again, we see that the average Springdale (865PE) boards (in Blue), we can see that the scores is around 69-70points. The Canterwood (875P) on the other hand leads the way with a score of around 45.9 points versus the SiS 648 REF board of 44.3. Another thing that we noticed is that, SiS 648FX Ref board performs slightly faster than a ABIT BH7 (i845) with IAA installed and overtakes all Springdale (865PE) in this category. This result is indeed very encouraging.

On Business Winstone 2001, it seems that IAA on the ABIT BH7 speeds things up. All Springdale/Canterwood boards performs at around 70 marks which is 10 marks slower on the average. Again we see that SiS 648FX board scoring a high of 77.4. That is even faster than the normal 865PE or 875P. Again, that is possible with SiS IDE drivers installed.
