The Battle of Color - Sony Ericsson T68i vs Samsung SGH-T100
(2) Samsung SGH-T100 If you think that 256 colors (on the T68i) is a bliss, you have seen nothing yet! The new Samsung SGH-T100 has a 12 bit 4096 colors TFT (Thin Film Transistor) screen! Blurring or ghosting as seen on the T68i is a thing of past. The color saturation and brightness on the high resolution 128x160 screen is really fantastic! Crystal clear. The Dual LCD is back again. Sitting on the outside of the lid, it displays the time/date, battery status, signal strength, phone mode and caller-ID. Before we forget, the use of polyphonic ringtone too. Capable of playing 16 instruments simultaneously, it's extremely musical (as compared to the shrill and beeps on the usual phones), precise and crisp. Samsung is also bundling a CD compilation of additional background pictures and poly ringtone for download via PCLink, which is a serial connection (plus software) between the PC and handset. The T100 can accept pictures in .jpg and .bmp format. The supplied software will automatically convert and crop your personal pic for uploading. Additional features are the usual T9 input, WAP 1.1, composer and programmable LEDs. Sadly, Samsung decided not to include GPRS or even an IR port!
Clear Interface. Who has the better Sunflower? It's a no brainer ...........
There's a spider in my phone! Side by side. Buttons are almost flat! PCLink Software For Transfer Of Images and Ringtone. The interface on the Samsung is in short, SWEET! It's user-friendly and idiot-proof quite like a Nokia. The settings, menus are straight forward and with a beautiful screen to boot, how can you not like it. The response time is pretty good (no ghosting) and SMSing is a breeze. However, the T100 is very power hungry and drains a standard battery in about 3 days with an average of 30 calls a day. I don't quite like the buttons too. They are large by comparison but they aren't high enough for sufficient feel. Almost flat. Lastly, the T100 has a long, external and very intrusive antenna. Why not integrated is beyond me :( |
