ECS L4S5A Review (5)
Benchmarking We conduct the usual tests on the setup with the following configuration : Test System:
Quake3 Arena Further investigation was done based on two popular gaming software DroneZ and Quake3 Arena. The following results are tabulated for reference. Quake 3 results are taken based on default settings with no changes made to the configuration files. Intel Pentium 4 1.5G ES We benchmark the board using a MSI Geforce3 Ti200 graphics card with the latest detonator 21.83 drivers. As this is a new category we added in our benchmark tests, we only have benchmarks from the i845D boards to compare with. Q3 Demo1
Q3 Demo2
*Q3 results are recorded based on Fastest (512x384x16bots) and Hi-Quality (800x600x32bits) Comparing the results, the L4S5A seems to be quite a good speed contender. If we were to compare FSB to FSB, it's slightly slower at 99.59Mhz instead of the exact 100.00Mhz when operating at DDR333 async mode. The ABIT SD7-533 also runs at 99.75Mhz. The small difference in FSB sometimes do results in some minor differences in results. I would say they are comparable. When the SiS645 boards operate at DDR333 mode, they all overtake the i845D boards in terms of performance. FSB ECS L4S5A = 99.59Mhz (200/333) |
