Benchmarking

We conduct the usual tests on the setup with the following configuration :

Test System:

  • AMD AthlonXP 1500+ and Thermoengine heatsink/fan
  • Maxtor 40G 7200RPM ATA133 HD
  • AOPEN 40X CDROM
  • MSI Geforce3 Ti200 Graphics card
  • TwinMos DDR400 256MB DDR
  • Channelwell 375W AMD Approved PSU

With more and more boards out in the market, most manufacturers will tune up their performance with newer BIOS. ASUS A7V8X scores a high of 6577 (DDR400), 6587 (DDR333). Well this is not a mistake. DDR333 is faster than DDR400. From the previous results, the A7V8X is a good performer.  One thing we can confirm is that the newer VT8235 South Bridge really speed things up in 3D performance.
