Benchmarking

We conduct the usual tests on the setup with the following configuration :

Test System:

AMD AthlonXP 1500+ and Thermoengine heatsink/fan
Maxtor 40G 7200RPM ATA133 HD
AOPEN 40X CDROM
MSI Geforce3 Ti200 Graphics card
TwinMos DDR400 256MB DDR
Channelwell 375W AMD Approved PSU

Quake3 Arena results

Further investigation was done based on two popular gaming software Quake3 Arena. We run Q3 for 5 times and take the most consistent result. We benchmark the board using a MSI Geforce3 Ti200 graphics card with the detonator 21.83 drivers. Have a close look at the results and see how fast the a7v8x can deliver.

*Q3 results are recorded based on Fastest (512x384x16bots) and Hi-Quality (800x600x32bits)

Q3 Demo001 High Quality again reveals that running at DDR400 is definitely not a good choice as it records a lower performance compared to running it at DDR333 mode. Well, it is already a well known fact that KT400 only officially supports DDR333.
