Samsung Innov8 8 megapixel camera phone

Conclusion
Everywhere we go, we see people touching their screens. Well,
touch screens do have limitations. Today, we take a look at a traditional slider
with top notch features- the Samsung Innov8.
First of all,
this phone supports the latest HSDPA at
7.2Mbps which is the highest available right now. If you are subscribed to HSDPA plans e.g. M1 broadband,
Singtel Mobile broadband, you will be able to use the phone
as a wireless modem with speedy connection of up to 3.6Mbps. As for Starhub
Maxmobile, you should be able to achieve a theoretical speed of a maximum of
7.2Mbps depending on location. If you go on to a tour, rest assured the phone is
supported as it supports Quad band and 3G networks. You also no longer need to
recall which places of interest you went as your photos will bear the geo
tagging, indicating on where and when you took the photo.
The focus on this phone is the camera features. Yes, it is a
8 megapixel camera phone. From our tests, this phone takes really good
pictures with auto-focus. The pictures are crisp clear and the flash light is
good enough for indoor pictures. In fact, we took a number of close up shots of
the motherboards, it fares very well against the my digital camera in macro
shots. The
camera offered more and added AI features smile shot and blink
shot for better pictures. In addition, the camera also support high speed video
capturing at 120frame per second at QVGA resolution. This makes it ideal for
recording speed racing or any fast motion.
One nice thing about Samsung phones is that it allows you to
playback the images captured or videos through the TV Out on the phone itself.
With Divx, Realmedia, WMV9, MPEG4, H264/H263 support, you basically have a
multimedia entertainment centre right in your hands. If you have a DNSe
compliant TV, you can even control it wirelessly.
In terms of applications, there are the usual Google apps
which is very useful if you use a HSDPA plan. There is also a video editor and
digital frame to edit and view your pictures and videos. In terms of office
productivity, there is the usual calculator, converter, notes. The Smart Reader
is exceptionally useful for optical reader of name cards. There is also
QuickOffice and Adobe PDF for business documents, spreadsheets etc. Other
preloaded applications are fring, Shozu, CNN, Yahoo! Go. I find the web browser
a bit cumbersome and I replaced it with Opera mini.
Overall, the phone is an all rounder with all the features
packed into one piece of device. As it is based on Symbian, there tons of
applications out there that can tap the power of this device. If you are not
into touch screen and wants the best functionality all in one device, this phone
is definitely for you.
