Conclusion (Pricing)
The X1650 XT is aimed at the NV 7600GT card. As we can see from the performance, the scores are very close to each other in most of the tests. The difference is negligible when higher resolutions were used with AA and AF settings as indicated in the benchmarks. The packaging of the Powercolor X1650 XT consists of the basic setup needed. It comes with a CDROM which contains PowerDVD, Power Producer, power2GO, PowerDVD Copy, PowerDirector, MiedaShow, Music Match and PowerBackUp from Cyberlink. It did not come with any game bundle. 1 DVI dongle and a Svideo to AV cable is provided. Overclocking wise, we use the tool within the catalyst 6.12 to overclock the card from 575/675 to 621/739. The core seems to have reached its max at 621MHz. Anything beyond that results in instability. In our test, the card ran smoothly with no major issues encountered. One advantage of ATI X1k series of card is its support of the AVIVO Video Converter Engine which offloads your CPU and speeds up compression of videos into other formats. This is one of the plus points of a X1K. Another is the HDCP ready and VISTA Ready. Basically, the PowerColor X1650 XT is able to support the upcoming BluRay or HDDVD decoding once it becomes popular.
