Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 (i965P) Core 2 Duo Mainboard
Review Benchmarks 2/11
Benchmarks
CPU FSB is still a valid and important criteria when judging systems performance. We measured the CPU FSB and documented it as below in 4 different boards and noticed the CPU CLK. As it is a Conroe X6800, the default FSB is rated at 266MHz. As shown below, the three boards has set its default clk quite differently. Both ASRock are accurate on 266MHz while the ASUS board is 1MHz higher at 267.1MHz. The Gigabyte board runs at 266.7MHz. AM2 comparative benchmarks are included. The 4000+ is o/c to 2.81GHz at 10x281MHz on the Foxconn C51XEM2AA-8EKRS2H running memory at CAS 3, 3-3-8,1T cmd with DDR2 running at 1:1 ratio. (DDR2-560).
The 4 boards are based on different chipsets. Although Intel has specified i975x and i965p official supports the Core2 Duo processor, the older chipsets like the 945P and VIA PT880Pro are used on the ASRock boards. Below are the benchmarks done on the Sandra 2007 memory benchmark. In our test, we set the RAM to DDR2-533 at CAS 3, 3-3-8, 1T for P5W DH and ConRoeXFire-eSATA2. We can only run 2T on the 775Dual-VSTA, 1T is not too stable. The Gigabyte board was ran at SPD which is at CAS 5, 5-5-18 DDR2-800. We tested the it at CAS 3,3-3-8 DDR2-533 in SYNC with CPU and found that the differences in benchmarks are negligible. Only 965p officially supports DDR2-800 operation.
