SiS 771/966 Reference Board Review Benchmarks - Overclocking
Bluetooth 18 Sep 2006

Overclocking

Initial results shows that we are able to run the 4000+ at 2.5GHz (250x10) with HT set to 5x and memory setting is at 400. With that setting, that means that the board is stable at 1.25GHz Hypertransport and DDR is running at 500MHz or DDR2-1000 on the Corsair DDR2 module at CAS 5, 5-5-15 2T. This is all done at default voltages. The BIOS on this engineering board only has a range of 200-250MHz for user selection as shown in the gallery pages.

According to our queries to SiS, they told us that PCIe and PCI bus are all locked. It will depend on manufacturers which clkgen they adopt. The chipset supporst these features provided the manufacturers use the correct clkgen. How well will the retail boards o/c remains to be seen.
