Scythe Silent Box Noise Reduction Fanless 3.5" HDD
Case 1/3
Silent Box Scythe attacks both heat and noise issue from your HDD One of the main challenges to system builders is noise and heat generated from systems. Nowadays, users are always complaining about heat and noise from systems. The problem lies with that the fact, if you add fans, the noise level increases but heat level drops. The vice versa is true too. Scythe has found a solution to this problem. Scythe releases Silenx BOX model SBX-1000 which serves this purpose. This enclosure fits all 3.5"HDD up to 10K rpm. As it uses a heatlane plate to dissipate the heat within the enclosure, there is no fan thus reduce the noise level. Heatlane is the original technology invented and provided by TS heatronics Co Ltd. Inside the "heatlane" plate runs a capillary tube through which special working fluid runs to transfer the heat all over the surface at a great rate. Unlike heatpipe method, the special circulation of the working fluid within "heatlane" allows it to realise effective heat transfer in horizontal or even "top to bottom" direction. To prevent noise and
vibration, Scythe uses NBR (nitrile Butadiene Rubber) for outer layer and SBR
(Styrene Butadiene Rubber) for the inner layer. Silent Box can effectively
spread the vibration mode to minimize the vibration. As the case is built using
rubber, it won't break as easily compared to those plastic holders.
