Digital Imaging: Consumer-Inspired Design
Samsung recognizes how consumers use cameras and
what they want to do with the images. Four cameras and camcorders in 2010 – the
EX1, the WB 2000, the HMX-U20 and NX10 – exemplify this understanding. The EX1
is a 10 mega-pixel, high-end compact digital camera with an f/1.8 lens for a
wider range of aperture steps and shallow depth-of-field, so photographers can
take better pictures in low-light environments.
The WB2000 is a high-speed, 10 mega-pixel compact camera with a dual capture
mode so users can take still photographs while also recording full-HD video. The
ultra-compact HMX-U20 camcorder’s built-in USB connection makes it easy to share
what’s captured immediately through one-touch sharing to YouTube. Throughout
2010 Samsung will introduce eight new lenses for the NX10, extending the options
for users.
Home Appliances: A Beautiful Environment
Three refrigerators – the TGV-10, TGV2-10 an NW2-FDR – embrace unique design and
the use of energy-efficient LED lighting. The TGV-10 and TGV2-10 feature a host
of options such as a coolpack, which maintains the refrigerator’s temperature by
supplying cool air through an ice pack, even when the power has been turned off.
The NW2-FDR, meanwhile, employs Samsung’s innovative Twin Cooling system.
In laundry, the new Bubble Care technology in Samsung’s Scout washing machine
protects delicate fabrics and can wash at a lower temperature for energy savings
while the GAIA top-loading machine features an environmentally-friendly dual
agitation system. Two new ovens, the OmniPro microwave and built-in GEO, feature
an array of sensors and heating technologies designed to provide consumers the
fastest and best cooking conditions.
Samsung’s advancement in the air conditioning sector continues with Samsung’s
award-winning Virus Doctor air purifier, which is also built in to the company’s
Crystal Inverter air conditioner. Finally, Samsung is showing audiences the
NaviBot robot cleaner and its superior camera-based navigation system,
“Visionary Mapping.”
Display and IT: New categories, New Markets
Samsung has entered the eReader discussion with a strong statement, unveiling to
the Southeast Asia & Oceania audience its multi-functional eBook, which provides
reading, writing and information sharing capabilities. The eBook is also one of
several devices that connects with the 650TS interactive whiteboard, Samsung’s
first large format display that also possesses touch screen.
Two new displays, the LED Pico Projector and the slim PX2370 monitor, use LED to
ensure longer life and energy efficiency while the MD230 multi-display with
ultra-thin 7.4-millimeter bezel can be viewed in 1×1, 1×3 and 2×3 formats.
The merging of Samsung’s PC and printer divisions in 2010 will have significant
strategic impact, particularly the launch of the company’s PC business in 31 new
countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam. Samsung’s
N210 netbook will feature Samsung’s new “inside pattern” design ID while also
possessing up to 12 hours of power. The NB30, meanwhile, possesses protective
features for the more rugged lifestyle while the P Series of notebooks targets
business users with a technology arsenal that includes Intel’s Calpella
Platform, a 16:9 LED Backlit LCD and an nVidia graphics processor.
Samsung’s smart, easy-to-use printers all feature one-touch functionality in
2010, removing complexity and creating new energy savings. The ML-1660 and
ML-1665 monochrome laser printers have print speeds of up to 16
pages-per-minute, one-touch print screen function and are even more compact than
previous Samsung models, making them the smallest on the market. They also
feature a streamlined design and a stylish, glossy, chic black and cream grey
finish.
Samsung did not stop there as the no 2 mobile
phone manufacturer, in fact there are simply too many choices for your home. If
we could, we want everyone one of them, especially the 3D TV.
