Review Conclusion of Samsung Omnia Pro B7610OCWorkbench 18 Jan 2010
Conclusion
Don't be fooled by the business looking phone B7610, it is a 2 role in 1 body. With it's Work or Life option, it immediately transforms it's interface into the Work or Lifestyle mode to suit you. Although I like the customised Touchwiz 2.0, it can sometimes slow down the phone especially when you try to run Live messenger. As it is a touch screen phone, most people will tend to compare it with iPhone. Well, with a resistive touch screen, the Omnia Pro B7610 is definitely better off with the stylus than your fingers. Nevertheless, we didn't have major issues and find that the 800MHz gives WM6.5 a boost in performance. Scrolling through menu, phone books is no longer a farce. As it is a business and lifestyle phone 2 in 1, it supports both business and lifestyle needs. It has all the necessary Office mobile apps. In our case, we tried out the Office mobile 2010 and it runs great on the phone. For social media freaks, there are short cut keys to Facebook. unfortunately, Samsung did not have a customised application to it. It was linked to m.facebook.com instead. Twitter is the same, you would need to access it via the web browser. Of course, you can download the latest version of the application from Windows Marketplace to replace the web based equivalent. With a data plan SIM or your WIFI, you can basically get connected to the web anytime any day. In terms of multimedia, the 5 megapixel camera takes pretty good pictures. The only complain is that it is a bit too bright, but that can be tuned down using photoshop. The audio quality is also good and loud enough and you won't have any missed calls. As for text entering, the keypad is the most comfortable as it is spacious and chances of misspelling is reduced. If you do not like that, you can always rely on T9 input using the virtual keyboard on screen. In conclusion, other than being a big thicker and lack Chinese support, the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 is a good Windows mobile phone to consider.
