Review Conclusion
of Sony Ericsson Satio
OCWorkbench 30 Nov 2009
Conclusion
When we first got our hands on the Satio, The most noticable
thing is that it's interface seems dated. There is also no 3.5mm phone jack. It
still uses the non miniUSB connector.
The camera is pretty decent and take nice photos. It's Xenon flash helps out in
dark environments. The BestPic is probably something that is unique to Sony
which let's one pick the best picture out of a couple especially taking pictures
of moving objects.
We took some indoor pictures using both the Samsung pixon12 and Sony Ericsson
Satio and finds that both has it's good and bad. You can take a look at the
pictures on page 4. In video recording, it only supports VGA resolution whereas
the Pixon supports 720x480. In our tests, the Satio remained in focus while the
Pixon12 seems to be trying to refocus a number of times during the filming. As
for clarity of video, the Pixon12 seems to have an upper hand.
Nowadays, phones comes preinstalled with many applications like social
networking tools, twitter, facebook etc. The Satio built in facebook, youtube,
integrated Google Maps. As it is based on Symbian, there are plenty of
applications out there. The Pixon12 which is based on a proprietary OS doesn't
have that luxury and you would have to depend on Samsung to develop applications
specific to that phone.
In Conclusion, this phone has a lot more applicatiion and potential due to it's
symbian roots. THe multimedia features like PlayNow! is also something that is
missing from other brands. So, if you intend to get an all rounder, this phone
is worth considering.
