Review conclusion of Samsung GT-I8000 Omnia II OCWorkbench 28 Jul 2009
Conclusion After using it for the past week, I would say that the Omnia II does let me relook at the Windows mobile 6.1. As we all WM6.1 is sluggish and a hog. Worse of all, it eats up resources and slows down. Although the Samsung Omnia II cannot escape from the bloated OS. It compensates that with a TouchWiz 2.0 shell. This shell actually makes it more intuitive to use. I particularly like the large 3.7" AMOLED screen. This is exceptionally useful for watching divx movies on the go. In fact, if you are a Starhub subscriber, you can download a widget which allows you to watch cable tv channels on the go. So far, I find the responsiveness on the Omnia II to be pretty good. Just take note that when power is running down, the phone becomes a bit unresponsive to my commands. Compared to the upcoming Android phone, I think Windows mobile 6.1 is aging and can't run as fast as the i7500. If you are getting the Omnia II today, you will get an update when Windows mobile 6.5 is released. |
