Review Conclusion of HTC Touch2OCWorkbench 11 Nov 2009
Conclusion
The HTC Touch2 is a very handy Windows mobile phone device that could suffice even for the busy executives or young adults. Updating your facebook or browsing the net is made simpler with the HTC custom interface. Windows Mobile 6.5 gives the Touch2 a new life making it With processor at only 528MHz, the phone is pretty responsive to touch. One thing I noticed is that the there is no way you can open the micro SD card slot until you rip open the back plate. It could be designed to be so such that your micro SD card would be protected. On the other hand, this makes transfers using micro SD a real hassle. If you notice, the phone only has a single lens, thus 3G video conferencing is a no-no on this handset. In terms of applications, there are already tons of windows mobile apps on the net. For example, I installed SPB TV to get myself updated with world news. Of course there are others on the Windows Marketplace which you can purchase online. If you do not like the HTC TouchFlo, you can install SPB Shell 3.5. Below is a video demonstrating the speedy interface with SPB Shell 3.5 and running SPB TV on it. Both are only available for Windows Mobile 6.5 devices. In our test run, we took the phone out to Yew Tee mall. We took some pictures under the sunny sky. We were looking for a camera button but found none. You would have to activate the camera function from the main menu. Some images turns out a bit discoloured while some seems pretty good for a 3 mega pixel camera. Perhaps the auto settings isn't smart enough to detect the scenes we were taking. Overall, this phone is small, compact. Be it be it work or entertainment this little beast has all the power to handle it.
