Gigabyte MA785GPM-UD2H AMD 785G+SB710 Mainboard Review - Introduction
Introduction
Last year, AMD stormed the market with it's AMD 780G chipset which was well
received by many enthusiasts. This July, AMD launch it's brand new chipset the
AMD 785G. For multimedia, it has 3 output ports, D-SUB, DVI-D and 1 HDMI port. It uses the Realtek ALC889A 7.1ch HDA codec supporting Dolby home theater and SPDIF IN/out. The LAN is powered by a Realtek RTL8111C chipset. The south bridge supports the 1 x IDE connector, 5 SATA II ports with RAID 0,1,10,JBOD. The 6th port functions as a eSATA port. It can support up to 12 USB ports (6 already at back panel, 6 more via brackets). 1394 is support by Texas instrument chipset TSB43Ab23 chip, 1 on back panel, 1 via 1394a bracket connected to onboard header. Other Gigabyte
features include Ultra Durable 3 which is 2Oz Copper PCB to run the board cooler,
50000 Hr Japanese solid Caps, Dual BIOS. It also
has Easy Energy Saver - auto adjust CPu power depending on workload. , EC AOD-ACC
and FullHD 1080P bluray playback support.
