ECS X58B-A Intel X58+ICH10R Intel Core i7 Mainboard
Review - Introduction
Introduction
ECS introduces another black edition mainboard, this time round, it is the ECS X58B-A, a LGA1366 Core i7 system board. The LGA 1366 CPU-socket interface is designed to accept Intel® CoreTM i7 processors and will supersede LGA775 in the high-end and performance desktop segments. It contains nearly 600 extra pins for QPI links which offer faster data transfer and three 64-bit DDR3 memory channels will provide the best gaming experience. With the economy downturn, most people won't go for a better price/performance product when upgrading their PCs. As we are aware, the Core i7 processors are rather expensive. When paired with an expensive board, it would costs a bomb. For the cost/performance factor, most people would not really consider getting multiple high end GPUs. In this case, ECS sticks to the basic, offering only 2 single PCIe x16 2.0 full length slots for supporting CrossFire and SLI. Although it only has 2 full length PCIe slots, it is still
feature pack. The board supports 2 eSATA for HDD hot plug. The ICH 10R
also supports RAID 0,1,0+1,5 for the SATA II ports. There is also 8 ch audio,
Dual GbE, 1394 built on board. CPU Voltage : Adjustable CPU voltage from 0.5V to1.6V
