Aztech HW550 3G WiFi-N Mobile Broadband Router
Review
Introduction
Introduction
Nowadays we are spoilt of choices. From Fixed Line broadband to mobile
broadband. Although most broadband users require a fixed line broadband at home
for surfing, the take up rate of the mobile broadband is rising as more users
surfing via their notebook or netbooks.
In Singapore, all three telecom operators M1, Starhub, Singtel all has
competitive plans for such mobile internet plans. Charges for an unlimited 1mbps
plan costs only from S$15.00+. There are even 21Mbps plans available. With such
high speeds, some users are tempted to switch entirely to a mobile solution
since they can surf outside using their notebook and surf at home using their
desktop PC.
As most telcos only provide a USB Stick for a 24 mths contract, you can possibly
share out the bandwidth with a traditional 4 port switch router. Another
alternative is to power up your PC to run it as a router. That is too time
consuming and not worth the effort.
Aztech has a solution for you. The Aztech HW550-3G WiFi-N Router is a 4 port
wireless N router plus HSPA support 3G mobile Broadband router. The router comes
with 4 switch ports and a ADSL/WAN/Cable port. Thus you can share out your
existing Fixed line broadband too. To share out your 3G broadband, simply plug
the USB stick into the USB port behind the device and you are done.
In addition, you can enable the high Speed wireless-N at home or office with
Smart MIMO antennas. For better protection, you can also secure your Wifi
network with advanced 64/128bti WEP, WPA/WPA2. For a small home office, you
might want to share your network portable storage devices and printers using
this device.
Aztech has been updating it's list of support USB Sticks on it's website. For
