The board layout is pretty neat with 2 PCIe x1, 2 PCIe x16 (Dual 8x mode in SLI/CF) and 2 PCI slots. The Power On/Off LED and reset switches are located on the left mid board. Next to it is the PLX chipset which is a bridge to provide more bandwidth to the Marvell SATA3 controller. Behind the PCIe and PCI slots are the VIA audio codec,VIA 1394 controller, Realtek GbE chipsets. To the right is the spacious LGA1156 mounting area.

Right below is 4 DIMM slots supporting up to 16GB MAX of DDR3-2133(OC). Below it is the 24 pin connector. To it's left is 2 white SATA3 ports (6Gbps) supported by Marvell chipset. The 6 cyan coloured SATA2 ports are supported by the Intel P55 chipset sitting under the ASUS labelled heatink. There is also a blue coloured IDE channel on board.

On the back panel are the PS/2 Keyboard and mouse ports, 8 USB 2.0 ports, SPDIF/Coaxial, 2 GbE, 1 1394, 10 ch audio ports.
