Benchmarks

Before we dive into the benchmarks, I would like to highlight that we have adopted new benchmarks and higher resolution in our tests. If you have any suggestions to the benchmarks used or comments, please feel free to contact us at webmaster at ocworkbench.com

3DMark06

With 3DMark06, the benchmark is first tested at it's default core and memory speed with a core i7 965 running on ASRock X58 Extreme mainboard. with 6GB of Kingston DDR3-1866.

With the card running at it's default clock and ram speed 725/1000 (or 725/4000), this benchmark running at 1920x1080 give us a high score of 19879. That is pretty decent I would say. With 8xAA/16xAF applied, the score dips to 18821. This is still quite fast, the performance is only 5% slower than at normal AA/AF settings.

We managed to get a stable overclock at 989/1218 with the GPU voltage adjusted up to 1.43v using the SmartDoctor application supplied with the package. The clock speed as you can see already exceeded the stock settings of a Radeon HD5870.

With the card overclcoked to 989/1218 (or 989/4872) for core/mem, the score shoots up to 20782. That gives it a 4.5% boost in this category.

3DMark Vantage HIGH mode

In 3DMark Vantage, the card scores 9568 in the test. At 8xAA/16xAF, the score dips to 8919. With overclocking in place, the score soars by up to 300 points giving a high of 12356. That is a 30% increase in the score.
