From the top left hand corner, we see the 3 full length PCIe 2.0 slots. The 3 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (blue @ x16 mode, orange @ x4 mode) can run in 3 way SLI or CrossFireX. The GbE and audio codec is right behind the slots.

To the right is the V8 power phase design with mosfets under the golden heatsink. The other end of the heatsink is the Intel X58 north bridge. The LGA1366 socket is right above the DDR3 dimm slots.

For memory expansion, thsis board supports Triple Channel DDR3 2000(OC)/1866(OC)/1600(OC)/1333(OC)/1066 (6 x DIMM slots) non-ECC, un-buffered memory, Max. capacity up to 24GB. It supports DDR3 ECC, un-buffered memory with Intel® Workstation 1S Xeon® processors 3500 series and Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP).

To it's left are 6 x SATAII 3.0 Gb/s connectors, support RAID (RAID 0, 1, RAID10, RAID 5 and Intel® Matrix Storage), NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug functions. Next to it is the Power, reset and debug led surrounding the south bridge Intel ICH 10R.
