DVD playback depends on a lot of factors. The breakdown of the scores can be seen in the chart below : DVD playback depends on a lot of factors. In the HQV test, we test out the graphics card in various aspects of video Noise reduction, Film Cadence etc. A total score of 130 if the card passes all the various tests. Here is a breakdown of the score. Using Forceware 169.06, we ran the test and observe the jaggies, NR, 3:2 etc. Image quality is excellent for the Jaggies/Flag but details are lacking. Noise reduction isn't turned on automatically thus resulting in fuzzy images. There is also flickering in the colour bar test.
HQV HD Test We acquired the HD HQV and tested it. Here is a breakdown of the results. With a score of 45 out of 100, it is slightly better than the two other lower end cards tested. So far, the 3 cards in the test all failed the film resolution test. Noise reduction isn't that good on all cards. New drivers might help. NVIDIA 8800GTS (G92)
ATI Radeon HD 3870
