In order for audio to be channeled through the DVI port to the HDMI converter and output to the HDTV, an update to the BIOS is needed. Once the new BIOS is flashed in, you will get these two options.

There is this option NB Azalia which must be set to enabled. In addition, you have to set ATI Azalia Audio to Auto. Once that is done, you can boot into your operating system.
