Playback of a MPEG4/AVC TS  short clip recorded off air

It can be clearly seen that the UVD kicks in and reduced the CPU utilisation by a lot more than previous generation of ATi cards. In fact, in the older series of cards, e.g. the X1950XTX, we are getting very high CPU utilisation. It is now dropped to an average of 12%. That is amazing good for a mid range card.

The same clip was tested on NV 8600GTS and we get an average of 29% CPU Utilisation which is doubled that of the HD 2600XT.

Playback of WMVHD Step into Liquid

For playback of WMVHD, the cpu utilisation has also dropped further to an average of only 14%. unfortunately , the screen flickers and part of the screen seems corrupted when we play it back using PowerDVD Ultra 7.1.  The same clip is played using a NVIDIA 8600GTS card, we get around 19% CPU utilisation on the average. That is 5% more than the

Playback of MPEG4/AVC movie

Playing back of BluRay movie "The League of Extraordinary Gentleman" Mpeg4/AVC movie gave very impressive image quality and CPU utilisation is at 10%!!

Using the same BluRay movie, we played it on a 8600GTS, we get an average of around 43% CPU utilisation. That is 4x more than the HD 2600XT.
