Last week, we were invited to visit the Kingston's office and factory on it's 20th anniversary.
Kingston was established on 17 Oct 2007 by Mr. John Tu and David Sun. The company has evolved from a initial set up to a billion dollar industry. In 2006, Kingston has a revenue of $3.7 billion. It has zero debt and is financially secured. Currently, Kingston has over 4150 employees worldwide focusing on memory modules and flash memory products. It also has a capacity to ship over 175M/units per year. Products are distributed in 104 countries, 3000 locations worldwide. Comparing 2005 and 2006, head count has increased 46.9%, units shipped also increased by 21.2%. Consolidated revenue went up by 23.3% too. Currently, Kingston is leading the market in terms of revenue. In 2006, it ranks number 1 in both iSuppli and DRAM Exchange report. Kingston now has plants in Mountain Valley, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, Shanghai,
China, Shenzhen, China and Penang, Malaysia. So far, most of the output volumes
are from the Shenzhen and Shanghai factories which constitutes to 59% of total
volume of 175mil units.
