Jetway HI02GE
(nForce 650i SLI) mainboard review - Conclusion
Conclusion
In terms of performance, this board's internal processing is on par to the more expensive nForce 680i boards. As compared to some other designs, this board excels in its "no Switch card" requirement. Simply insert a single card for PCIe x16 operation or Dual cards will automatically run it in Dual PCIe x8 mode for SLI. This is definitely a plus over ECS's design which hardwired the board to Dual 8x. In terms of performance, we don't see major difference in scores in comparison with other boards. The major difference could be the SLI function. Pairing 2 pieces of the graphics card gave tremedous improvement over games like DOOM3 and Riddick. In terms of features, the board comes with GbE, 1394, IDE, SATA RAID 0, 1, 0+1,5 or JBOD. Most importantly is SLI. Overclocking options are plenty. In fact, I have not seen any BIOS that offers so much options for a mid range board. In our o/c test, we can POST the E6300 up to 1550FSB (or 387MHz) x 7. Anything beyond that, the system would hang. Overall, this board runs steady with no issues. We simply like the convenience of the coloured PCIe slots for SLI and non SLI operation. Although the board can only overclock to 1550FSB, it seems that is more of the chipset issue. So, if you are looking for a heatpipe, quiet board, the Jetway HI02GE's elegant black PCB design with heatpipe might just be the board you should look out for.
