DVD playback depends on a lot of factors. In the HQV test, we test out the graphics card in various aspects of video Noise reduction, Film Cadence etc. A total score of 130 if the card passes all the various tests. The breakdown of the scores can be seen in the chart below :

From the different tests, it seems like that 3 HD 2000 series of ATi cards perform pretty well in all tests. In fact, from our own observation, the main differences these cards differ are in the jaggies test pattern, noise reduction and picture detail. Of course, this observations are very subjective.
