Introduction

With AMD 690G chipset leading in performance over the aging GeForce 6150, NVIDIA brings forward the GeForce 7050-630A which is one of the MCP68 class chipsets to compete head on.

As we know, AMD launched their 690G boards on Feb 28th. It has created a big demand for HDMI or DVI interface boards. As we have seen, the AMD 690G are pretty quick and offers value for money for its performance. NVIDIA couldn't just sit back and rely on its NF6150 to as it doesn't support HDCP. Thus NVIDIA is coming out with this new chipset that enhances on the capabilities of the previous generation MCP61 to include all these new feartures to fight with AMD 690G.

The board is a Full ATX board. It uses a 4 phase design. There are 4 PCI slots, 2 PCIe x1 and 1 PCIe x16 slot for external graphics card. The board supports AM2 processors, 4 240 pin DDR2 1.8v DDR2-533/667/800 dual channel architecture. Up to 16GB can be installed. This board also has a DVI-D and D-SUB but no HDMI. An add on card with HDMI can be used to achieve HDMI output.

The integrated video uses a GeForce 7 Dx 9.0C with Shader model 3.0. RAMDAC is 300MHz and supports up to resolution of 1920x1440@75Hz. The integrated video supports NVIDIA PureVideo processing. There is also full NVIDIA nview multi display technology supporting D-SUB+DVI-D.

Other chipset specs are similar to the 6150 chipset. It supports one IDE port which supports 2 IDE devices. 4 SATA II ports with MediaShield RAID with RAID 0,1,0+1,5 and JBOD support. 12 USB ports are supported on board. There is GbE and a 6ch HD Audio.
