Connection to HDTV using the HDMI interface

ASUS M2A-VM HDMI not only has on board D-SUB and DVI-D out, it can output using the riser card provided in the package. Installing the card is pretty straightforward. First, power down the system and plug the riser card into the PCIe x16 slot. Secondly, plug the 7 pin cable onto the YUV/SPDIF out connector near the CLK GEN.

Once that is done, power up the system with your existing display and go into the BIOS. Remember to enable HDMI support in the BIOS option. Also, set HDMI Audio to Enabled so that the audio will be channeled out to the HDMI port.

Once it is done, you can now boot up the PC and use the LCD TV as your screen. In our tests, we are able to use the HDTV as a display unit for our programs. Get facinated running  3DMark06 on a 42" Screen !!

Screen captures are shown on the next few pages.
