Futuremark 3Dmark05/3Dmark06 Benchmarks - ASUS M2A-VM HDMI Mainboard Review

Benchmarks - 3DMark2005/2006

With its driver 8.33, we ran the board against the rest of the older generation chipset. The scores from the 3 boards are quite identical, 1048, 1042, 1048. No matter what, that is way higher than the NVIDIA chipsets.

With Catalyst 7.3, the score shot up to 1071. That is a bit of a shock to us as we never expected that.

In 3Dmark06, the ECS AMD690GM-M2 scored 307 marks. That is comparable to the ALiveNF4G-DVI board based on NF6100+410. The EPoX scored 311, slightly higher by 4 points.

Comparing the ECS RS485M-M of 168 points versus 311 points obtained using the EPoX board, we see a jump of ~85%.

The ASUS M2A-VM HDMI scored 308 with 7.33 driver and 314 with Catalyst 7.3. Looks like Catalyst 7.3 does help in the performance.

The results shows that integrated graphics are not really meant for 3D demanding games. In fact, in the next few pages, we will skip all tests of 3D games using the integrated graphics as all of them will not gartner even 5 fps in games like Riddick, DOOM3 etc.
