Conclusion of
ASRock 4Core1333-FullHD ATi RS600/SB600 Mainboard Review
Conclusion
In terms of performance, the integrated chipset did well against the major Intel G965 and 945G chipset in 3D graphics. As we are using an early bios, we noticed that performance with an external vga card might run just a bit slower than the Intel chipsets. This could be corrected in BIOS. Overclocking wise, there are CPUCLK, ASync settings, ram timing adjustments, voltage adjustments. You can check the gallery for more details. We were able to reach 390 x 7 on E6300 using the embedded video. The board does not have any option for you to change the GPU CLK/RAM CLK and CPU multiplier. Video quality is amazingly good. In fact, for those of you who are switching from the AMD camp and has read our AMD 690G board reviews, the image quality is amazingly good compared to the ClearVideo of Intel G965. Not only that, the chipset supports decoding of H.264 FullHD movies with HDCP. Thus, you will be able to enjoy video at high resolution (bluray or hddvd) with lesser CPU cycles freeing it up for other tasks on your PC.. In conclusion, this board is suitable for HTPC use. Pair it up with VISTA and a XBOX HDDVD drive, you are in for some great video entertainment on the big screen. The only regret is that the board does not come with a HDMI interface. To connect to HDTV, just get a DVI->HDMI converter and you are way to full HD playback.
