LG KU800 Chocolate WCDMA/GSM 900/1800/1900 2.0 mpixel Slide up Camera Phone 6/5
Bluetooth 25 March 2007

Conclusion

The KU800 3G Chocolate phone delivered what it is capable of a slim, stylish phone packed in one. I particularly like its navigation touch pad which is unique to LG. As we have predicted, we should be seeing more of such designs in the near future such as the LG Prada which is fully touch pad.

The 2.0 mpixel CMOS camera takes average pictures. While most manufactuers are going for 2 mpixel. I just couldn't understand the lack of auto focus feature on such a nice phone. It is a pity as photos turns out to be average and tends to go out focus under dim lighting.

The phone comes with with external storage. This is again something that was missing on the original KG800 phone. For transfer of files, USB connectivity or Bluetooth comes into play. During our test, we had some issues with MS VISTA. Perhaps the USB drivers are not VISTA Ready.

Overall, the phone is one of the best phones in terms of design. One regret is the lack of Radio. It is also slightly thicker and heavier than the KG800. Although there is room for improvement on the feature set, the design balanced out the odds.
